Response to Tim Sanford's Email

Here is an interesting (marketng-centric) response to the email send out by Tim Sanford, Artistic Director of Playwrights Horizons.

  1. Kate -- excellent find (note -- original letter from Tim is on Blackboard's readings). Thanks so much for posting. I think the writer raises one of the major 'pushback' elements you get in arts organizations -- if you communicate openly and ask them what they want, audiences will try to manage the art making. Interestingly, I have never found that to be the case. Strong relationships are based in dialogue and understanding and the artist has a specific role in that relationship.

So cool that mediapost engaged in the arts, too! I will try to follow the comments (and I bet it will be picked up by Howlround as well).
